Rebirth and Renewal: Tapping into my personal power

I have a new zeal for life and all the possibilities and opportunities that lie ahead of me.
Times have been tough as we all know. Staying informed of world events and being active within our communities can be draining. The limits of this year are forcing us to adapt and change the way we see life every day.
I don't recognize myself from last year. I feel like a lot of people can say the same. I've started a spiritual/healing journey during our quarantine last March which has led me to my most authentic self. I'm still breathing and I thank God for that every day.
Here's how I've been healing old wounds:
Meditation and Prayer
I started meditating back in 2019. I was an anxious mess and needed something to help control my spiraling thoughts. Meditation was recommended to me by a good friend and I said, "letsss gooooooo" (Da Baby voice)
I would meditate about 30 mins before my bedtime. This allowed me to clear my mind from the day and prepare myself for a more peaceful slumber. I downloaded the Headspace App and would use this in conjunction with guided meditation videos on YouTube and meditation playlists I've found on Spotify.
Nowadays, I'll meditate in the morning within the first 30 mins when I wake up. I find this easier because my mind is clear when I wake up so it's better for concentration. This starts off my morning peacefully and I'm able to mentally prepare for the day as well.
I still have trouble concentrating sometimes but it's a practice. The more you do it, the better you'll be!

Affirmations, baby!

Affirmations have been a huge part of reestablishing my self-esteem. Since quarantine, a breakup, and other major life events, I've had to gain my confidence back and understand that I possess my own personal power and learn how to tap into it!
I've had to work on being kinder to myself. I've noticed that I don't give myself enough credit for the work I do. I can be extremely tough on myself. and hold myself to unattainable standards. I realized this pattern of talking negatively to myself and work my best to redirect those thoughts into a more optimistic outlook on myself or my current situation. Your thoughts truly do become your reality.
I am strong
I am a resilient leader
I deserve to be happy and loved
I have an abundance of strength and energy
I accept myself the way I am
I manifest my full potential to being
All is well in my life. I am immensely blessed
I am doing my best and that is always enough
With every breath out, I release stress in my body
I am proud of myself
These are a few of the affirmations I use. I'll repeat these back to myself twice a day, once usually right after I complete my makeup in the morning. (I be looking good, what can I say? lol 😅) and when I'm completing my skincare routine at night.
I recently just put some affirmations on cute post-its and put them in little spots around my house, so I could see them and recite them back to myself. I definitely recommend doing so and talking positively to yourself.
You are worthy. You are enough. Give grace to you. Be kind to yourself.
Communication is KEY
I'm still really working on this. This one is not as easy to do.
Some actions I have been improving on are having tough conversations, understanding my resentments, and confronting them. This also includes making my intentions clear and setting boundaries and being a receptive listener.
Having clear communication helps me create harmonious relationships in my life.
Healing is an evolving process and I'm willing to make the changes to establish peace and harmony within all relationships.
Self Reflection / Cancelling myself
Quarantine resulted in a lot of alone time. During that time, I started to journal more often. Tracking and reflecting on my feelings has played a huge role in understanding myself and healing. Journaling allows me to acknowledge my feelings, not wallow in them, and release all tension to paper. This is how I fell in love with writing.
Writing has always helped me communicate better and I'm grateful to be tapped back into that flow.
Scripting my desires
Feeling Entries
Poems, Lyrics, etc
I AM MY GREATEST LOVE

I am worthy of all my desires. I am enough. I am beautiful.
I'm going to treat myself like I am,
During this time in my life, I've been taking myself out on little dates, picnics, day trips with my camera, etc; just enjoying my own company.
It is so peaceful.
No one is me and that is my superpower. I'm going to love myself as the goddess I am because I'm deserving of being loved and feeling special even if I'm appreciating myself.
You are too.
CHECK-IN
How have you been feeling lately?
Are you drinking enough water?
Have you gotten fresh air today?
What were the last 2 meals you ate?
When was the last time you told yourself, I love you?
What's one thing you could do to make yourself happy today?
I advise you to ask yourself these questions and do that thing that makes you smile today. The world glows with you. And if no one's told you this today, I love you. Keep thriving! Do the unimaginable
I hope this helps you with your healing journey. Thank you for reading!
