Parmesan Crusted Asparagus

I avoided asparagus for a long time! At first, I never really liked asparagus as a child. it's one of the vegetables that had to grow on me. Then, a few years ago, I had an allergic reaction to some asparagus at a restaurant on my Dad's birthday! What a time! I thought it was odd because I don't have any particular allergies. Anyway, I tried asparagus again recently (took the chance, yolo!)... and turns out I'm not allergic...now I can't get enough. It's my new fave side dish.


Here's the recipe for my signature asparagus!


Ingredients:


  • 1 bunch Asparagus

  • Olive Oil

  • Parmesan Cheese

  • Red Chilli Flakes

  • Garlic Powder

  • Balck Pepper

  • Garlic Salt

  • Onion Powder

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes



Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Wash and prep asparagus on cutting board and cut off 1/2 inch from the stem.

  3. Season the asparagus with garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic salt.

  4. Place seasoned vegetables on a baking sheet pan covered with aluminum foil, generously drizzle with olive oil, put in the oven for 10 mins.

  5. Turn over asparagus and place red crushed pepper flakes and parmesan cheese. Place back in the oven to melt and brown for 5 more minutes.
